After graduating, Steve lived overseas for two years as an English teacher until his interest in acting and writing brought him back to the UK. He worked for a children's theatre company, then trained as a scriptwriter at film school.

During this period he also performed with different theatre groups and in a variety of film projects. He joined the ITC's regional office in Sheffield at the time when digital channels were first being rolled out (prior to OFCOM, the ITC was the broadcast industry's regulator).

Steve then returned to London where he wrote scripts for corporate television programs and copy for websites, before finding his niche in the world of subtitling - an area of post-production that's been his specialism for the last 10 years.
